Sobriety Central we
are a Recovery Resources Website for anyone who is interested in seeking Recovery or a solution for an Alcohol or
Drugs problem. We offer resources for members of Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Alateen, Narcotics Anonymous, Nar-Anon.
We at Sobriety Central have important values and ideas; recovery is what we care about and want to share with
you.
I believe Drug and Alcohol abuse is the number one problem of today's society. Every year it is responsible
for the break up of Millions of families, marriages, and careers. It is also responsible for many deaths due to Drug
related violent crimes, Drug and Alcohol overdoses, car accidents, and has long term physical and mental effects
including Aids or HIV, Liver disease, Brain damage and many of other problems due to Alcohol or Drugs abuse.
Hi Tim W. here I started this
Website to keep in touch with my fellow Friends of Bill W. in Recovery and Service, and to provide recovery tools
and resources for those that are already in recovery and also for the family members and friends of those suffering from Drug
and Alcohol abuse. And to carry the Message of Hope to the still suffering Alcoholic or Addict.
*Men and women drink essentially because they like the effect produced by alcohol. The sensation is so elusive
that, while they admit it is injurious, they cannot after a time differentiate the true from the false. To them, their alcoholic
life seems the only normal one. They are restless, irritable and discontented, unless they can again experience the sense
of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks-drinks which they see others taking with impunity.
After they have succumbed to the desire again, as so many
do, and the phenomenon of craving develops, they pass through the well-known stages of a spree, emerging remorseful, with
a firm resolution not to drink again. This is repeated over and over, and unless this person can experience an entire psychic
change there is very little hope of his recovery.
On the other hand-and strange as this may seem to those who do not understand-once a psychic change
has occurred, the very same person who seemed doomed, who had so many problems he despaired of ever solving them, suddenly
finds himself easily able to control his desire for alcohol, the only effort necessary being that required to follow a few
simple rules.*

We want to let other Alcoholics and Addicts know there is a
way to Stop Drinking or Drugging, and live a full and happy life without Alcohol or Drugs, and how they can join in and
make their lives better through Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or the fellowship of your choice with
Unity, Service, and Recovery.
